ABOUT DELTA GRIND

The History

Originally started in September of 2001, Delta Grind started due to a tinkering hobby with a restored Fairbanks Morse flywheel engine (circa 1912) and a Meadows stone grist mill (circa 1910). The engine and the mill together, revved up, produces stone-ground corn meal. After some adjustments to the stones it started to yield grits, polenta and masa. From then, Delta Grind has grown to become a small business which serves more than 50 restaurants and retail locations throughout the south.

In February of 2008, my husband, John, and I bought this family business. Despite a few machinery upgrades and address change, the business has stayed true to its roots - a small, friendly, family business which produces an all-natural product. John, our daughter Louisa, and I are the sole operators of this company, for now. Our newest family member was born on the fifth of May this year - 2009. Although Louisa, being only 2 1/2, would rather just hang out and watch! We may give her babysitting duties while we grid our fabulous product.
